Fired Between 11-13 times on a suspect FOR A POSSIBLY STOLEN GRILL
At a Walmart in Del City, Oklahoma an off duty Langston University cop took to lethal force as him and the suspect in their car had a physical altercation. The video shows an off duty cop trying to pull the suspect of an alleged stolen grill, out of the suspect’s car.
NOTHING had been proven! Instead of talking to them and if they refused, grab the plate number and run it, this OFF DUTY OFFICER, took it into his own hands and assaulted a suspect who didn’t need to comply to an OFF DUTY COP.
The driver trying to defend themselves and run, which they had a right to do, begins to pull away. The officer pulls out his firearm, takes aim and fires around 11-13 shots into the car as the car flees the scene. I don’t blame him! I’d run from bullets too!
On duty cops arrive later and confirm the suspect was taken to the hospital. They are expecting to recover from injuries that they sustained from the off duty cops actions. Langston University officials released a statement. LUPD says, “The officer was not performing duties on behalf of Langston University at that time of the incident. The Langston University Police Department intends to cooperate with the Del City Police Department if assistance is requested.”
There hasn’t been news of what actions will be taken against the officer, but something needs to be done. We can’t keep letting these cops get a warning or just fired. We need CONVICTIONS!
